Obituary for Pat Osiowy

Peacefully, on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, Pat passed away with her family at her side.

Pat was predeceased by her husband Louis (2016),her mother and father, Mary and Joseph Kotello and stepmother, Anne.

Mom will be lovingly remembered by her family, Theresa(Gordon), Darryl, Darlene (Darrin) and her granddaughter Autumn. Mom will be missed by family and many friends, especially Mom’s very close friend and neighbour, Leona.

Pat was born on July 1, 1938 in Hazelridge, MB. She grew up on the family farm where she was cherished by her mom and dad. These early years prepared her for a future life with dad on their farm.

Mom and Dad met at Anne and Nick Tchir’s house at a party and this started an over fifty year love affair. Mom and Dad were married on October 24, 1964.They were each other’s best friends and spent the majority of their time together. Mom and Dad’s devotion to each other was a great example of what love means.

Mom had a love of nature and animals, she took pride in her garden and the weeds were welcome too. Pat enjoyed picking up frogs, guiding turtles to the creek and feeding newborn calves. She had a way with all creatures large and small.

Mom had an early career as a tele-typist. She was a farm-wife that enjoyed bringing meals to the field and eating lunch with dad on the tailgate of the truck. Mom also worked at Elmhurst Golf Course and got to spend time working with her life-long friends, Pauline Kohut, Anne Tchir, Louise Kuzyk and Jean Kozak.

Family was the most important part of Mom’s life. She would always lend an ear and talk about cooking, gardening or any kind of advice. Daily phone calls were a must and will be greatly missed. Mom was always there for us and showed her love through her actions. Mom always thought of us first and she put herself second. Mom was selfless, compassionate and she continuously put our needs first.

Mom and Dad enjoyed simple pleasures such as trips to the States. They visited relatives in Toronto, Chicago and Detroit, Grand Forks and Fargo were visited frequently and the truck was always pointed in a different direction ready for the next road trip.

Our family would like to thank and extend deepest appreciation to Riverview Health Centre for their compassion and exceptional care for Mom. We would also like to thank everyone at SpringfieldPlace for their kindness during Mom’s stay. Mom was fortunate to have many quality homecare aides that helped her remain at her residence. Mom also received wonderful care from Dr. Bshouty and Lynn Demki.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 26 at 11:00 at the Oakbank Baptist Church in Oakbank, MB at 26033 Springfield Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pulmonary Hypertension Association of Canada or The Winnipeg Humane Society.

Mom, it was so hard to say goodbye, but we take comfort that you and Dad are together again. We will think of you every day and you have left us with life long memories to fill our hearts. When we see a dahlia, wheat field, furry or feathered creatures, we will think of you. Love you, Mom.
